Laughter, frozen on forgotten film; confessions inked in diaries left unopened; keepsakes hidden away between yellowed pages; scandalous snapshots and journals of ordinary life alike abandoned to the moths and mites infesting a dim bookshelf corner. These forgotten stories are what drew me in when I first began volunteering at the archives of my community college. There, amid the quiet troves, history seemed unremembered. Mnemosyne Archives began with a calling to safeguard memories, to weave together the scattered photos and documents of ancestors, to make remembrance both simple and enduring.
Now, with more than a decade devoted to the craft, I partner with museums, city archives, grant projects, and private clients, ensuring their histories are not only preserved, but serve as foundations upon which futures may be built.

Meet Mnemosyne
Neh-mow-zeen (American pronunciation)
Greek Titan Goddess of Memory and Knowledge, mother to the Nine Muses
She encapsulates the essence of cultural continuity and intellectual heritage, representing individual and collective memory.
Mnemosyne's dominion over memory also played with the concept of time. Remembrance transcends normal constraints of time, as what is recalled and memorialized endures beyond the present moment. Through her, ancestors lived on in tales recited at gatherings, their legacies preserved for eternity.
The term "mnemonic" is derived directly from her name, immortalizing her influence in helping us remember things like complex formulas and historical dates.
Mnemosyne's legacy is preserved through myths and the arts, and underscores the timeless relevance of remembering our past to inform our future.
